This letter is to confirm that we may film at your property which is known as Sams House from6.00pm to 7.00pm together with a setting up period of 20mins and a clearing away period of.

It is therefore agreed as follows:

1.That our personnel, props, equipment, vehicles and artists employed on our production are allowed onto the Property for the purpose of setting up and filming on the dates and for the periods agreed.

2. We may return to the Property at a later date if principal photography and recording is not completed on the dates agreed.

3. We have notified you of the scenes which are to be shot on or around the Property and you confirm and agree that you consent to the filming of these scenes.

4. We are entitled to incorporate all films, photographs and recordings, whether audio or audio-visual, made in or about the Property in the Film as we may require in our sole discretion.

5. We shall not make any structural or decorative alterations to the Premises without your prior consent. In the event that we do want to make alterations and you agree, we shall properly reinstate any part of the Property  to the condition it was in prior to those alterations.

6.In consideration of the rights granted in this letter we will pay you the sum £0.00

7. You agree to indemnify us and to keep us fully indemnified from and against all actions, proceedings, costs, claims, damages and demands however arising in respect of any actual or alleged breach or non-performance by you of any or all of your undertakings, warranties and obligations under this agreement.

8.This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales and subject to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Dear Diary,

Been a long time since we last spoke, so anyway dad once again wants me to go to that lake AGAIN its getting really stupid now, I would rather be indoors just playing some xbox really, don’t know why we always have to go there.

Anyway, life’s good so far I guess, go through basketball trials so im officially a new member of the basketball team J not really a surprise though, I mean im probably the best in the college anyway Jkz. 

Not really much has gone on today over than that.

Just came down from dinner and mum seems to always be upset when talking about dad, I don't really seem to know why but Im sure it can't be that bad over wise they would of said something, they know I can take bad news so…yeah.

really looking forward to tomorrow, got my first day at basketball training (with the team), dads most likely going to try and get me out of that to go to that lake and most teachers are going to be off for the day to get to protest over some stupid thing (like always) so yeah bye. From Noah

How Dancing and Music has Changed peoples lives - News Report VT

This report will be based on how dancing and music has changed people lives for the better, by showing how they have stopped themselves from taking bad habits.

1. The video will start with a video of some dancing and acting (With narration)

2. We will then interview a singer about why he loves to do it and why its changed his life or the better

3. A couple more Videos of dancing and acting

4. Then an interview with DK dance crews Choreographer about why he started the crew and what the point was towards changing them as not only dancers but as people.

5. Finally it will end with some more videos 

Primary Research:
I will be interviewing a local singer, Mj, on why he started singing and why he loves it (history) then i will start to ask things like, how has it changed him for the better and worse.
In the next interview will be local dance group lead choreographer, Kinner Patel, and we will be asking him the same questions as Mj but with a couple of extra's, like why did he start the dance group and for what purpose. We had got permission from the head of Performing arts to film the dancers in there upcoming performance on Wednesday 9th.

Secondary Research:

This will be the singer we will be interviewing about why he loves singing and how it has changed his life for the better and worse.

Narrative Script:

Every parent would love their child to follow their dreams whether it be through a creative arts way or something else, enduring their hobby as a profession.

Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor and The Voice are platforms which young people use as a stepping stone to get into the industry. Every high street in the UK will see at least one musician busking their way hoping for their big break.For Sam, Ben, Laura and James this is exactly what they are hoping for.This indie band from Essex who formed in August 2013, are mixing strong harmonies from indie original songs to create a distinctive and intense sound, for their upcoming gigs in 2014. With hours of rehearsing a week this local band are aiming high. This local band are grabbing every opportunity possible. Having a studio in Sam's house, and working with band members some of which have been playing their instruments for over 10 Years!The MBG are influenced by artists such as Mumford And Sons, Jake Bugg and Fleet Foxes. We spoke to them.

We also spoke to Local Singer Mathew Jhureea on why he thinks what he had done changed him for the better and why.

Another growing performing art is dance, the style of Hip Hop was created in the 70s and since then has grown massively not only in the streets but also the Big screen. 
We interviewed a couple of dance students from South Essex College about why they started and how it has changed them (Interview Shots).
We had also spoken to Local Choreographer and Leader of the local Community Project Designed Kaos Kinner Patel the same things but also why he started the group in the first place.

Star/Genre/Location/Pre-Credit Scene (NEEDS TO BE FINISHED)

In the lesson today we had to all think of a celebrity, then a type of genre and then a location. After that we then had to give out our things to other people and then they had to think of a story for that by making a log line, title and poster.

My three things that I collected was, Zac Efron, Noir and a lake.

The Idea I came up with was to do a sort of romantic type noir, I started by calling it "The Lake" cause the story was in a lake, I then made the log line "One man, one lake and a bunch of tree's" cause then it makes people want to know what is going to happen. I should of made it a bit better but with the timing I had I couldn't think of a good enough log line to suit what I had in mind.

This was the Poster I had made, I made sure that the woman was in it so that people knew that it had a romantic feel to it, I then made sure that Zac Efron had a bigger picture so that the audience knew who the main character was.

25 tips of script writing

1. A Clear Setting
When and where does this story take place? Lock that in on your very first slug line.

2. Describe that Setting
When people read your script, they probably won't know the environment you're talking about. Describe it in a couple of short, sharp sentences.

INT.CAFETERIA, SOUTH ESSEX COLLEGE-DAY
Bustling, busy, full of fashionably dressed teenagers. Chrome and glass surfaces, gossip fills the air as students talk and eat.

3. Introducing Characters
Throw in a couple of vivid details to make the reader picture the character in their head.

Kayla Frost, 19 - Stick-thin, looks like she might snap at any moment. Her Levis's might be faded, but her eyes burn fiercely from under a gothic mop of hair.

4. Naming your Characters
Make sure each character's name is different and looks different when written down.

Give each name a surname, too. If they've only got a first name, this comes across as an incomplete identify.

5. Conflict, Conflict, Conflict
Not only should your screenplay be based on a wider conflict of some kind, but each character should also have internal conflict that they are dealing with.

Doubts, insecurities, unfinished business. None of us glide through life without stuff boiling away inside, and your characters shouldn't either.

6. She's Filled With secrets
Giving your characters secrets, whether big or small, enables you to pick away layers and keep your viewer interested along the way.

7. Keep it consistent 
Make sure that you keep your characters consistent in both background and behaviour.

If Dave is an Ex-con with a violent pass, make sure he acts that way when confronted by trouble.

8. Dialogue Stuff: Sentences
People don't speak in complete sentences, nor do people all speak alike.

You need to let your characters dictate where the punctuation goes. Gaps, pauses, unfinished sentences.
Try recording people speaking and listening to it back.

9. Stay Away from the Nose!!!
The Phrase "On the Nose" refers to dialogue that states too clearly what a character is thinking without filtering it through their personality and agenda.

If Dave tells his closest friend "I want to be a policeman", chances are this won't play as well as having the application forms fall out of his gym bag might.

10. Keep it Unpredictable
When Princess Leia tells Han Solo "I love you" in the empire strikes back, the scene is most memorable for his response "I know".

You want dialogue to flow, but you need to rethink predictable exchanges. Throw away the first response you think of. Throw away the second one too. Maybe use the third.

11. Keep it Varied 
Does a character even need to respond verbally to a statement?

If someone says "goodbye" to them, do they need to speak in return?
Couldn't they just wink instead?
Once again, predictability is your enemy.

12. First Line
The First line your character speaks should sum up an aspect of their personality.

If your introducing a party animal like Stifler from American Pie Series, his first line wouldn't be something mundane (Boring) about being late for an appointment.
Your character only gets one chance to make a first impression, so make sure it packs a punch.

13. Language=Life
Make Sure that your characters dialogue reflects their life experience.

A 70 year-old English professor won't speak the same way as a 25 year-old football player.
A character born in 1960 will speak differently to one born in 1990.
Make their dialogue reflects this!

14. Double Hyphen
Has one character stepped on another line? Cutting them off before they finish speaking?

The traditional way to show this in a script is with a double hyphen.

WIFE

You know, I never told you--

HUSBAND

I don't want to hear it!

15. Fresh Slang

Why not make up your own slang? Using the latest words, phrases and cultural references will date your script extremely quickly.

Writers like Joss Whedon make up their own phrases and drop those into the script ("Whats the switch?" Meaning "Whats going on?" originated in Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

An audience won't know the difference between a slang phrase you've made up and one they've never heard before, but they'll certainly notice a dated turn of phrase. You dig, Man?.

16. Mix Dialogue and Action

If life, stuff happens all at once. People don't stop talking because a bus is about to explode; the bus explodes whilst they're in mid-sentence.

Don't be afraid to have action and dialogue crash into each other, because things in real life don't happen in neat order.

17. Don't Tell me what I've seen!

If Debbie's head just exploded, the viewer doesn't need James to tell them;

"My god, Debbie's head just exploded"

They had already noticed. Eliminate dialogue that narrates the action.

18. No Place for close questions

If you've got a question which leads to a "Yes" or "No" response in your dialogue, get rid of it.

They stop the dialogue dead, and the audience can anticipate the response,

Replace them with open questions, to let your characters personalities shine through.

19. Misunderstandings

Characters should misunderstand and misinterpret each other just as people do in real life.

It gives you great opportunities for conflict and comedy, plus it makes the dialogue read as more authentic.

20. Style Stuff: Present Tense

Always keep your action description in the present tense.

Gaby chases Fred into the ice-cream shop

not

Gaby had chased Fred into the ice-cream shop

You need to have the action unfold in the present as if it unfolds on the page

21. What not to include

The action description in you screenplay should not include:

Thoughts

Hopes

Backstory

Anything that can't be shown visually. 

If you want to include these things, you need to show them through events or dialogue.

22. Keep it Clear

"The father of the bride, who runs the a pizza restaurant" is ambiguous.

Who sells the pizzas?

The Father of the bride?
Compare it to "The Bride, Whose father runs the pizza restaurant"
Keep it clear. The less ambiguity, the better.

23. OH MY GOD
Using ALL CAPITALS in your action descriptions signifies something important. Its a way of making the important elements pop when someone reads the script.

The Whole Building EXPLODES
Don't get carried away and end up with half of your action description in caps. Use it sparingly.

24. Keep it Punchy
Break long sentences and keep your descriptions as vivid as you can.

Jennie trying to leap her breathing under control as she walks across a tightrope? Sometimes fewer words work better.
Inhale.Exhale. Jennie steps out.

25. Write it First, then edit
This script won't be a punchy, exciting and engaging as possible on the first draft.

Your mission on the first draft is just to get the thing written
Second, third, fourth and fifth drafts are the opportunity to make your screenplay everything it can be.
